Japan trip Part II

日本の旅 Part II

As you all know i went to Hokkaido, the place famous for it's fresh seafood, you can almost imagine the excitement i received when i saw....

TAKOPACHI!!
Wahh~~ It's looks oishii when the guy was flipping it. But when we opened up the box...

(-_-)"

And it doesn't taste as nice as the ones in s'pore. X_x. However, we managed to buy a HUMONGOUS takopachi at Tokyo streets. It's so huge!! (Ahh.. too bad nv take pic. Forgive me.. i was quite sianz in Tokyo liao. Not much pics taken there) And their sign also very cute. It's a hand bomb pic to resemble the BIIIG ball-ball!

Check out their seafood market! Similiar to the Unique Seafood Market (??) in Turf City, Singapore. Except the sea creatures are really grown outta proportions there.

Okok. Exaggerated a wee bit too much. Lol!

These are fresh (alive n kicking) prawns we ordered during our steamboat lunch at the seafood market cum restaurant. Dun pray pray wor... each prawn costs S$7! They're to be eaten... RAW. Feeling nausea??

You can only eat raw prawns in Hokkaido. They taste so sweet n delectable, complete with the roe in tow. I braved myself n took a small bite. Gosh. You can never imagine the taste. It doesn't taste like prawns at all! Hmm.. how shall i say? The 口感 is similiar to that of eating chicken meat.

The feeling of satisfaction. Ahh...

Japan trip Part I

TADAIMA!!

Woosh.. feels great to be back home!! Tho is like back to reality.. sobzz!

Hmm.. japan was fun. But it's not as fun as expected la. Perhaps placed too much expectations on the trip. All in all, it was definitely a place i would like to visit again. Now to share, what i've seen; What i've learnt; What i've tried. Enjoy~~

[ 日本の旅 Part I ]

1) High-tech toilets

First time experiencing wash/soap/dry hands in the same sink. And also wash/dry butt in the toilet seat! You gotta admire how these Japanese really noe how to enjoy life. Oh! And also, their toilets are really clean. Even those ulu pandan public toilets, you can be sure there's definitely enough toilet paper for you! *claps claps*

2) To-die-for sweet treats

They're so generous with their testing portions that one round in the supermarket can you 1 meal!

With everything so nicely packaged, i had to resist the urge to buy everything back to share with you guys. Sighz.. but then again. The urge wasn't so difficult to resist since all the prices were such eye-sores.

3) Damn expensive fruits

But delicious nonetheless! Don't underestimate these normal looking peaches. They're HUGE.

The grapes were the best. I would never have imagined the grapes could ignite the taste of grape wine on my taste buds. Gosh.. i feel high everytime i took a bite!

The Hokkaido rockmelons are crazy. One melon the size of a soccer ball costs ard (make a guess) s$70! O.o" Which makes me wonder... do Japanese eat fruits?!?

4) もち MOCHI!!

Presenting my ultimate fav!! These are glutinous rice balls filled with red bean (most common) aka 豆大福, or choco, various flavours etc.

The one shown here can only be found at 1 location in Sapporo (according to the guide). It's mochi wrapped with... *gasp*.... strawberry cake!!!

Gawd. It was sooo delicious!! See the white powdery stuffs on top? It would have been flour for most mochi but NO. It's icing sugar here! Sink your teeth into it, and you can feel the chewiness of the fresh mochi entwined with the soft butter cake slapped on with generous portion of fresh whipped cream & strawberries.

1 word. Heavenly.
